In our previous teachings, we've ascertained what is wholesome and resolved to live by goodness. We've turned our minds towards the Dharma through the four mind-changings. And from a place of radical letting go, we've sought to cultivate a balanced, unified, undistracted attention of blissful pliancy. We're now ready to deepen our connection with the heart - opening and moisturising it; and nourishing our inner sensitivity that cares for all sentient beings, free from egocentric reference points and agendas. This can only occur if we also open to ourselves with the gentleness and kindness of metta, not superficially but without reservation and to the very depths, even if it feels dark and difficult inside. A heart of compassion and love is fundamental to what we are, and if we can have the courage to touch and manifest this nature fully, we will have the strength and conviction to face life's obstacles without avoidance or despair. In dark uncertain times, a joyous courageous heart born of compassion is a beacon of light and warmth. Join us as we begin fostering the altruistic heart of compassion for all (relative bodhicitta). Join us in exploring the four immeasurable minds of loving-kindness (metta), compassion (karuna), empathetic joy (mudita), and equanimity (upekkha) within the clear stillness of meditation.
